me, Steyr and do you want to buy a state park?

Post by pilkguns »

In trying to address some publicized news in other arenas, I will say the following.

First, to everyone that I have ever done business with THANK YOU and I appreciate you.

In the last two years I have had life deal me a bunch of unexpected craziness. Business things, personal things, health things. Difficult vision problems for 14 months was a major issue and affected a lot of things because I couldn’t see to do most things I was accustomed to. At this point I am mostly past the difficult vision issues but still sorting out some minor ones.

Meanwhile in the last two months I have had more unexpected craziness, First it was four year old water heater leaking all over my downstairs, then it was hitting a deer with my beloved Marauder, then it was tornado across my house and shop, tossed in with a couple of trips to Indiana to deal with some family issues. But all of those things could have easily been so much worse. The tornado did a lot of damage but in places that didn’t really matter that much but the cleanup is still a pain. Heaven knows people all over the world have dealt with a lot of natural disasters for worse so I’m not complaining per se, but definitely acknowledging the time suck of it all.

So amongst all this, I know pilkguns.com is not functioning correctly and sooner or later I hope to restore those links. AFAIK all the data is still there to find by google but the interior links are not working.

Regarding STEYR airguns in the US, I have in the last six months tried to determine a successor to me that could manage things in a manner worthy of the brand. Lots of hours were spent in the phone trying to determine who/what/where ( and hey I couldn’t see anyway so I might as well talk) Anyway there has been several leaks around and “false starts” lets call them. At this moment, the only place that will have Steyr air pistols is Champions Choice and they have a shipment that is landing in Nashvile in a few days. I am still doing Steyr repairs but in the next 5-6 weeks I will be turning over my Steyr repairs, tools and equipment to Peak Performance aka the Xcount up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Gregg and Diane Rice are great people and great ambassadors of the sport. As you may know they are who bought my repair business for Anshcutz, Feinwekrbau and Walther and Gregg Rice was chosen this year to be the NCAA gunsmith at their championships. Gregg and Diane are also involved with the new Air Pistol focused range in Columbia, Missouri that is managed by James Hall, a 2021 Olympian in MAP and a great overall person so I’m excited about this transition for multiple great reasons.

As far as this platform goes, I don’t intend to sell targettalk . I may turn it over to someone or some group in the future but I don’t plan tosee any major changes here.

Lastly, if you ‘ve got a few million laying around and would like to own 55 acres in Tennessee with magnificent rock bluffs with 70 mile views, and numerous water features, please give me a call . the right person could literally pay for it with conservation easement tax writeoffs if you have that kind of income
